Original Homemade Sloppy Joe Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons oil

1 pound lean ground beef

1 medium yellow onion, diced

½ teaspoon of salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon chilli powder

2 garlic cloves, minced

½ cup ketchup

1 cup tomato sauce

1 teaspoon brown sugar

¼ cup of water

¼ teaspoon hot sauce

4 hamburger buns or 8 buns

Instructions

Fry the onion in a frying pan with heated oil until it becomes soft

Add garlic and chilli powder and mix well

Add ground beef and cook until no longer pink

Add pepper, brown sugar, water, ketchup and tomato sauce

Let simmer for 8 to 10 minutes

Taste and add more flavor or hot pepper sauce if desired

Using an ice cream scoop, place a scoop on each of the bread bases

Garnish with a little grated cheese if desired
