Southern Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients

½ cup butter, softened

1 cup of sugar

3 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

3 to 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 pinch of salt

1 dash of nutmeg

1 prepared deep pie crust

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350*

Using a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together

Add the eggs and mix well

Add the flour, buttermilk, vanilla and salt and mix well

Pour into prepared pie crust and bake for 50-60 minutes, until set. The middle can still stir a little, but it can’t be liquid.

Let cool completely before serving.
