Who needs cabbage rolls while you can skip all the work and make it in one pot! Are you a cabbage fan with a busy schedule !? This one pot cabbage recipe is super easy and goes well on any night, during weekdays or even in sundays. This is the easiest version of cabbage rolls.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- Salt and pepper or creole seasoning
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup rice, uncooked
- 3 large handfuls of roughly chopped cabbage
- 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 cups of water
- 1 14 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup shredded cheese. I prefer Colby Jack.
How To Make It :
- First, start by Seasoning and browning the ground beef and onions.
- Then Drain off the grease.
- Once onions are ready, add your cabbage, tomato sauce, rice, 2 cups of water, diced tomatoes and Stir.
- When it comes to boiling reduce heat to medium low and cover to simmer for about 25 to 30 minutes or until rice is done and cabbage is soft.
- lift the lid after 20 minutes to make sure rice cooks well.
- Once your rice is cooked, top with cheese and cover for a few minutes for the cheese to melt.
NOTES :
- If you prefer spicy food use a can of Rotel instead of diced tomatoes.
- Freeze it before baking, if you are planning on preparing this casserole for future use.
- Lemon Butter Chicken, Grilled Chicken Kabobs or Baked Chicken Parmesan goes good with cabbage for dinner.
