Ingredients
1 pie crust, premade or freshly made
1 ¼ cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 ¼ cup water
3 tablespoons strawberry jelly
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Instructions
Preheat the oven to the temperature directed on the pie crust
Bake the pie as directed
Remove from oven and let cool for at least 30 minutes.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cornstarch and water
Whisk and bring to a boil, reduce heat to simmer
Continue to simmer until the sauce thickens, this may take about 5 minutes
Whisk the strawberry jelly completely and let cool on the side
When the pie crust is cold, add the sliced strawberries to the crust.
Pour the glaze over the strawberries
Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours until the pie is set
Top with dollops of whipped topping and a slice of strawberry on each dollop
