Southern Buttermilk Pie

Ingredients

½ cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

3 large eggs

1 cup buttermilk

3 to 4 tbsp all purpose flour

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 pinch of salt

1 dash of nutmeg

1 prepared, deep dish pie crust

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350*

Using a hand mixer, cream the butter and sugar together

Add in the eggs and mix well

Add in the flour, buttermilk, vanilla and salt and mix thoroughly

Pour into the prepared pie crust and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, until set. The middle may still jiggle a little bit, but it cannot be liquidy.

Allow to cool completely before serving.
