Ingredients
1½ cups shredded Mexican or cheddar cheese blend
1 pound ground pork or beef
1 package taco seasoning
1 large chopped tomato
A handful of shredded iceberg lettuce
2 Pillsbury brand croissant tubes
Chopped green onions and sour cream, to serve
Nonstick cooking spray, as needed
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Add the ground pork or beef to a large skillet over medium heat.
Cook the meat, stirring often with a wooden spoon, until browned.
Drain off any excess fat.
Now mix the taco seasoning.
Unroll the dough from the tubes and place it in the bottom of a lightly greased 9-inch baking dish or pie dish. You may not need to use all of the dough.
Now add the cooked pork or beef mixture on top of the batter in the baking dish.
Sprinkle with cheese and bake for about 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
Let the taco bake for 10 minutes.
Add tomato and lettuce on top and garnish with green onions and sour cream if desired.
