Ingredients
½ large cabbage, grated
1 lb beef, ground
½ cup rice, uncooked
½ large white onion, chopped
15 oz. tomato sauce
15 oz. Beef broth
2 tbsp. minced garlic
salt/pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat to 350F degrees.
Start by browning the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Just before removing the beef from the pan, add the garlic to the beef. Drain the beef.
Combine sauce, cabbage, onion, salt and pepper, and rice in a large bowl. Stir beef into cabbage mixture.
Start layering your mixture of cabbage, beef, and. cheese in a 9×9 pan.
Using aluminum foil, cover the pan and dish. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.
After an hour, remove the dish. Stir and be sure to re-cover with foil before returning to the oven.
Let the dish cook again for 15-30 minutes. The rice should be cooked and the cabbage tender at the end of cooking.
