Dutch Apple Bread

Ingredients

1 ½ cups green apple, peeled and diced

½ cup butter, softened

1 cup granulated white sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large eggs

½ cup of milk

½ teaspoon of salt

2 cups all-purpose flour

½ cup walnuts

Accompaniement:

⅓ cup flour

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons white granulated sugar

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

5 tablespoons butter, cold and cut into cubes

Icing:

1 tablespoon butter, melted

½ cup icing sugar

¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon of milk

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350*

Spray a loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray

In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar

Add milk, eggs and vanilla and mix well

Add baking powder, salt and flour

Do not overmix

Stir in nuts and apples

Spread the batter into the loaf pan

In a small bowl, combine the filling ingredients and mix with a fork until they form pea-sized crumbs

Sprinkle the batter into the loaf pan

Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean

Let the bread cool, then remove it from the bread pan

Once cooled, whisk the frosting ingredients together in a small bowl

Drizzle the top of the cooled bread

Slice and serve!
