APPLE CRISP PIZZA

A super delicious dessert recipe with a light and crispy pastry crust topped with apples and a sweet oatmeal topping and caramel drizzle. This dessert is reminiscent of apple crisps, only better!

Apple crisps used to be our go-to dessert. It was basically mine and my husband’s favorite and we made it almost every weekend when we would get to spend time together. And if you’ve had apple crisps, you’d know how good they are – they’re one of the best desserts out there. In fact, they used to be my number one – that was until I stumbled upon this apple crisp pizza recipe!

This apple crisp pizza is almost like your regular apple crisp. Only, it features a crispy puff pastry crust topped with apples. Then you have a sweet sweet topping made with oats and cinnamon and sugar (delightful!), then you finish with a caramel drizzle. This recipe is one for the eyes, heart and then mouth!

It’s a slice of heaven. That’s the best way to describe it. It’s become my number one dessert, it’s my husband’s favorite for sure (he’s always torn between this pizza and the apple crisp), I try to keep my kids away from it, because I’m sure they’ll never let me rest if they got this on a regular – but in the odd times I give them a slice, they mob me and want more (good thing I’ve got my secret hiding place). This dessert is so good, the word good doesn’t even do it justice.

You can eat this plain, or with vanilla ice cream, it’s delicious either way. The best part about this is that it doesn’t take time to make. For something so heavenly, the ease surprises me!

Tips

Any baking apple is a good choice for this recipe. Here, I used Empire apples. You could also use Gala, Fiji, Braeburn or Granny Smith. These apples hold their shape even when they’re tender and cooked through. Ensure to avoid apples that get soft after cooking like Macintosh.

Salted butter brings out the sweetness in this pizza. If you lack salted butter, sprinkle some salt over your regular butter and then use.
