Let’s Make a Kentucky Apple Cake! 🍏

Ingredients:

List of ingredients:

 2 large eggs

A little bit of magical cinnamon (2 teaspoons)

1/4 cup of buttermilk

A little bit of milk (2-3 tablespoons)

2 cups of sugar

A small amount of natural vanilla extract (1 teaspoon)

2 blocks of margarine

The common ingredients are: 2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt.

2 and a half cups of all-purpose flour

3 cups of finely chopped apples (The more juice they have, the better!)

1 tablespoon of clear corn syrup

2 cups of chopped walnuts (for a crunchy texture!)

For the glossy finish:

1/2 cup of margarine

1 teaspoon of baking soda

3/4 of a cup of sugar

1/4 cup of pure vanilla extract

Let’s start baking!

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish thoroughly.

First, cook the eggs! Mix them together with cinnamon, buttermilk, milk, and vanilla.

It’s time to prepare the dry ingredients: mix together sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Mix in the eggs.

Melt the margarine and add it to your mixture.

Add flour to the mixture little by little. Mix thoroughly!

It’s apple season! Include apples, salt, corn syrup, and walnuts. Mix it well.

Pour the mixture into the pan, spread it evenly, and bake for 45 to 50 minutes.

Time to make the glaze: first, melt the margarine, then mix in the baking soda, sugar, and vanilla. Continue stirring until all the sugar has melted.

When your cake is ready, pour the glaze on top while it is still warm.

Allow it to cool down, cut it into slices, and enjoy each bite!

Tip: Keep it in a sealed container, and it will remain fresh for several days (if it doesn’t get eaten before then 😉).

Here it is! Get comfortable with a piece of pie and enjoy the delicious flavors of Kentucky. Enjoy baking and even more, enjoy eating! 🎉🍽
