Bars de Ooey Gooey

These Ooey Gooey Bars are soft and fluffy with a slightly crispy outer layer. They are sweet but not overly sweet.

In simple terms, they taste really good!

Ooey Gooey Bars Save
Ooey Gooey Bars are very easy to make, loved by many people, and incredibly delicious! When you have cake mix, butter, cream cheese, and powdered sugar, you can’t go wrong. The most difficult part will be waiting for them to cool down!

And what makes this recipe even better? It’s very easy and anyone can do it. My children do it frequently!

Also, you likely have the necessary ingredients.

Do these now. This weekend. Or at your next shared meal, you will be admired by everyone!

This recipe has been passed down through generations in my family. And it has at least twelve different names and many variations.

List of items needed to make a recipe.

For the outer layer:

1 box of yellow cake mix, dry (not mixed)

8 tablespoons of melted butter

1 egg

Sticky Layer:

8 ounces of softened cream cheese

2 eggs, whisked.

16 ounces of powdered sugar

How to Prepare Sticky Bars

Heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

In a bowl, mix together the cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Stir until everything is well mixed together.

Flatten and spread the dough evenly in a greased baking pan measuring 9 by 13 inches. Put aside.

In another big bowl, mix and beat the cream cheese until creamy. Put the eggs in and mix well for about a minute or two. Sprinkle powdered sugar and keep mixing until everything is well mixed.

Pour the mixture over the base and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 25-30 minutes or until it is ready. Avoid baking for too long.

Once finished, take out of the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into pieces.

I hope this cake brings as much joy to your family as it does to mine. Once people notice it, it will disappear quickly. I hope they are prepared to enjoy one this Christmas. I feel like baking and I think I will continue to feel this way for a while.
